A Mthod for Generating the Turbulent Intermittency Function
A detection method based on sensitization of a squared double differentiated signal is developed which discriminates the turbulent zones from laminar zones quite accurately. The procedure adopts a variable threshold and a variable hold time of the order of the Kolmogorov time scale. The output file so generated, includes all the information for further analysis of the turbulent signal.
متن کاملGenerating a function for network delay
In this paper correspondence between experimental data for packet delay and two theoretical types of distribution is investigated. Statistical tests have shown that only exponential distribution can be used for the description of packet delays in global network. Precision experimental data to within microseconds are gathered by means of the RIPE Test Box. Statistical verification of hypothesis ...
متن کاملPositivity of relativistic spin network evaluations
LetG be a compact Lie group. Using suitable normalization conventions, we show that the evaluation of G×G-symmetric spin networks is non-negative whenever the edges are labeled by representations of the form V ⊗ V ∗ where V is a representation of G, and the intertwiners are generalizations of the Barrett–Crane intertwiner. This includes in particular the relativistic spin networks with symmetry...
متن کاملGenerating Optimal Contiguous Evaluations for Expression DAGs
We consider the NP complete problem of generating contiguous evaluations for expression DAGs with a minimal number of registers We present two algorithms that generate optimal contiguous evaluation for a given DAG The rst is a modi cation of a complete search algorithm that omits the generation of redundant evaluations The second algorithm generates only the most promising evaluations by splitt...
متن کاملA Generating Function for Fatgraphs
We study a generating function for the sum over fatgraphs with specified valences of vertices and faces, inversely weighted by the order of their symmetry group. A compact expression is found for general (i.e. non necessarily connected) fatgraphs. This expression admits a matrix integral representation which enables to perform semi–classical computations, leading in particular to a closed formu...
